Speck Macbook Air Case Amazon
Do you use a cover for your MacBook?
I always take care of my stuff and like to protect my electronics. I use a cover for my iPhone and iPad, but I'm just not sure if I want a cover for my MacBook Pro. I feel like it ruins the beauty and aesthetics of the MacBook.
What's your thoughts on using a cover for your MacBook?

Nope. I just make sure that my MBA is placed on clean surfaces, it doesn't ever take a bashing. Not a single scratch on the body or display, looks brand new still.
My issue with hard cases for both laptops and phones is that if dirt gets trapped between the two, you're probably going to end up with more damage than if you didn't have the case (provided you're not prone to clumsiness).
/u/yamahaR1zombie's suggest of a vinyl skin works well IMO.

the only time dirt is going to scratch your electronics in between the case is if you get Sand in there. The rest of the most common particles will not scratch.
Spek makes some great cases that are slim, and maintain the satin feel. a case is always good practice if you value your resell value and aesthetics.

Always naked, as with my iPhone.

Until that one day comes.

I would prefer my 5c to be naked but it's way too slippery.

I use Specks MacBook Case. Its really great for Protection and also look decent on MacBook. Although I agree with you that Cases ruins MacBook Beauty.

I use the transparent plastic Specks case. Protects and keeps the beauty fully visible.

Yep I've found that the colorless transparent case makes it look the best. That was my initial gripe with cases until I saw speck's, they really are cool looking machines.
level 2
Same! Speck cases are terrific.

I love my smartshell satin cover. Got it in black and it makes the apple logo that much cooler shining through. Only problem is that it gets pretty smudgy, and the corners on the back bottom part of the shell are weak(snapped off within a month). Holds up well otherwise, feels great and looks great.

Nope. Why buy an aluminum laptop and put plastic on it.
level 2
Because aluminium scratches easily?

In my experience snap on covers do nothing a sticker cover can't.
-
if you drop your laptop a case won't do anything except protect scratches...
-
if you spill something the snap on cover keeps the moisture in... No good. But with a sticker cover the moisture can't get in.
-
snap on covers are more expensive and provide no more protection comparatively speaking. Sticker covers are cheap and the only real solid protection.
Hope this helps! I learned all this the hard way.

My snap on cover's prevented a few dents, although I still have one from before I bought it.
I know it might not do anything for the internals, but it keeps the case in good shape. That's worth the $30 I spent, I think.

Yes, I use a Speck black snap-on cover. I went without one for a while, and while the case does add some weight/thickness, I was a lot more comfortable pulling it out of my backpack (easier to grip) and setting it on various surfaces with the case on than without it. That's not to say that you need one; it's a pretty tough laptop all by itself. I just carry mine around with me so often and use it in so many places that I prefer what protection the case offers. I totally understand why a lot of people don't like it and wouldn't use it though.
level 1
I did but the extra weight on the screen part made the hinges weaker. The screen never stayed exactly where you wanted.

Why oh why can't Amazon figure out I'm not on a mobile device and just load the desktop version?

i read that as best skin sever, thinking what happened to the "e" after sever...

I don't use a cover for it. I find that my friends who have cases have to clean their cases a lot more often than I have to clean the aluminum. I do recommend an InCase sleeve if you want to transport your Macbook. I can't say how many times that thing has protected my Macbook Pro every time I drop my backpack or someone spills their coffee.
